Loss analysis of single‐mode fiber/photonic‐crystal fiber splice

Abstract

Abstract The connection loss between single‐mode fiber and photonic crystal fiber (PCF) is analyzed by using a full‐vector finite‐element method. PCF parameters for achieving low loss connection (for example, less than 0.5 dB) are reported. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
