Mothers’ expressed emotion towards children with and without intellectual disabilities

Abstract

A small number of factors associated with maternal EE towards children with ID were identified. Differences in maternal EE towards their child with ID and their other child suggest that EE is child-driven rather than a general maternal characteristic. Implications of the data for future research are discussed.
