Abstract On the basis of the infrared photometric and polarimetric observations of Comet West (1975n) (Oishi et al. 1978; Paper I), a cometary dust model is constructed. The features of the energy spectra and the scattering angle dependences of the polarization can be reproduced by a mixture of metallic dust particles (graphite or iron) and dielectric dust particles (silicate).
