Near-infrared (JHK) photometry and 5000–7000Å optical spectrometry have been obtained of possible counterparts of the newly discovered X-ray source, EXO 2030+375. A study of the EXOSAT error circle has revealed two possible candidates. Using the combined optical-to-IR data the most probable counterpart has been identified from the shape of the spectrum, and from the |${L}_{X}/{L}_\text{opt}$| ratio. The system bears certain similarities to V0332+53.
