A procedure for the determination of progesterone in plasma is described. By means of a reaction with sulfuric acid-ethanol, 0.5 μg. of progesterone maybe determined. The preliminary application of this method to the estimationof progesterone in 10 ml. of pregnancy plasma and 15–20 ml. of normal plasma indicates that levels of plasma progesterone can be studied.
