The present paper describes the development of new constructive principles for highly loaded components to exhaust the available potential of increasing the total efficiency of the “ideal combined cycle power plant of the year 2025”. For that purpose, optimized cycle design and flow duct for working fluid and cooling fluid have to be realized and new material solutions have to be tested to control the increased maximum cycle temperatures and pressures.
