Androgen receptor deficiency and hypotestosteronaemia in the Tfm mouse reduced endothelial function and impaired voltage-operated calcium channel activity, which may pre-dispose to cardiovascular disease. Testosterone-induced vasodilatation was unaffected, demonstrating no involvement of the androgen receptor in this response.
