Desilylation reactions of N-trimethylsilyl-trimethyl-phosphinimine (1) with PCl 3 and CH 3 PCl 2 lead to the formerly unknown phosphinimino-phosphines 2 and 3, which are characterized by elemental analysis, molecular weights, and 1 H- and 31 P-nmr spectra. The action of (CH 3 ) 2 PCl on N-trimethylsilyl compounds does not afford the expected desilylated products (4, 6). Instead a second mole of (CH 3 ) 2 PCl is added immediately to yield the ionic species 5 and 7.
