Neuroendocrine neoplasms of the pancreas, also known as islet cell tumors, are relatively rare, although they are diagnosed with increasing incidence and high prevalence (1). Because of their overall indolent but malignant course, pancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms have not been well studied, and standard staging tools have been lacking (2).
