Use of Statins and the Subsequent Development of Deep Vein Thrombosis

Abstract

Among selected individuals aged 65 years or older, statins were associated with a 22% relative risk reduction in the risk of DVT. A randomized clinical trial is needed to evaluate the efficacy of statins for the primary and secondary prevention of DVT.
