Abstract

Abstract The properties of fluorocarbon plastics have made them desirable for numerous new applications. Poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVF 2 ) can be easily extruded into films or fibers or injection molded into a variety of shapes. It was found that crystallinity, molecular weight distribution and polymer structure are important in establishing resin properties. Highly crystalline PVF 2 with a narrow Gaussian molecular weight distribution gives specimens with optimum physical and chemical properties.
