The structure of iron cupferron, Fe(O2N2C6Hs)s, has been determined by three-dimensional Fourier and least-squares methods. The crystals are monoclinic with the unit-cell dimensions a 0 = 12.50, b 0 = 17.45, c o = 11.15 A; fl = 12219 '. There are four molecules per unit cell and the space group is P21/a. The three cupferron groups are unsyn~netrically attached to the iron ion, and therefore crystallographically independent. The iron-oxygen bonding seems to be ionic.
