Abstract

Five patients with active eye changes of Graves' disease, Class 2 or greater, were treated with azathioprine 2 mg/kg. Thyroid function and the immune response were evaluated in each patient before and during therapy. Despite objective evidence of immune suppression with azathioprine, there was no significant improvement in the eye changes of Graves' disease.
