A total of 107 patients were treated for unifocal presentations of Hodgkin's disease between 1947 and 1969. Survival figures and incidence of new manifestations were compared for 62 patients staged clinically vs. 45 staged after lymphography. Although the five-year results were statistically better for the lymphogram group (88 vs. 69%), the overall incidence of new manifestations could not be predicted by lymphography. Positive findings on laparotomy in 27 patients were correlated with the patterns of new manifestations in the lymphogram and clinical series.
