Carotid plaque composition and cerebral infarction: MR imaging study.

Abstract

Ischemic cerebral lesions were common in patients with symptomatic carotid artery disease. Plaque composition, as assessed with MR imaging, is related to the presence and extent of ischemic cerebral lesions.
