Abstract

Abstract The computer program AXIL has been modified so that it describes complex PIXE spectra in a more accurate way. The modifications include a new representation of the absorption (detection efficiency) term, a non‐linear energy calibration, and a sum peak modeling routine. The new version (AXIL‐84) is described in some detail and several examples are given to illustrate its present performance.
