The beam-foil technique is applied to 17 transitions due to nitrogen ions in the wavelength region 1900–4900 Å Radiative lifetimes are given for the following levels: (3p1S, 3p1D, 4s3P0, 4f1,3F, 4f3G) for N ii;(3p4P, 3p2D, 3d4P0, 3d4D0, 3d4F0, 4p2P0, 4f4D, 4f2F, 4f2G, 6g2G) for N iii; (3p3P0) for N iv. These results are compared with previously published data and with values calculated from theoretical wavefunctions.
