Abstract

A 35-year-old man presents with an exacerbation of Crohn's disease. Treatment with a TNF inhibitor is recommended. TNF inhibitors block the effects of the proinflammatory cytokine TNF-α, and several have been shown to be effective in treating inflammatory bowel disease.
