Abstract

Abstract Eleven patients with clinical findings of suspected polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) were examined using real‐time ultrasound. The ovarian area of PCOS (average value 488 ± 183 mm 2 ) was larger than that of patients without PCOS (average value 184 ± 66 mm 2 ) (P>0.001). Ovarian structures in those with PCOS were evident in the form of peripheral or general cystic patterns on the ultrasonograms. Ultrasonography proved to be a pertinent diagnostic tool for a non‐invasive diagnosis of PCOS.
