A retrospective survey to study vascular abnormalities was conducted on 1073 lymph nodes from 250 patients. Two haemangiomatoid lesions, found in axillary lymph nodes, are described. They are uncommon, localised lesions which appear to be associated with local malignancy. A more frequent vascular abnormality was pan-nodal vasodilatation, which tends to affect many nodes in a single group and is especially associated with ulcerative colitis. Both types of lesion appear to be reactive in nature. Their characteristics suggest responses to different stimuli.
