Abstract

A 200 Gbit/s optical eye diagram, which was generated by compressing and four-multiplexing a 10 Gbit/s optical signal, has been clearly observed by using an optical sampling system. The time resolution was 1.25 ps and the timing jitter was 160 fs with a timing-jitter reduced gain-switched optical pulse, and the 3 dB bandwidth of the optical frequency was 310 GHz.
