Highly reflective fiber Bragg gratings (reflectivity >99.99%, -45 dB in transmission) have been written through a 55-μm-thick novel polymer fiber coating in a low (5 mole%) germania-doped optical fiber. The coating is based on vinyl ether chemistry using a cationic photoinitiator."
