OSNR monitoring technique using polarization-nulling method

Abstract

We report a simple technique based on the polarization-nulling method to monitor the optical signal-to-noise ratios (OSNR's) of WDM signals automatically. The results show that the OSNR's could be monitored with accuracy better than 0.6 dB.
