The major purpose of the study was to assess the construct (dimensional) validity of the Gregorc Style Delineator through confirmatory factor analysis using LISREL 7. The instrument was administered to 263 undergraduate university students in foundations of education classes during a one quarter period. Results indicated that the four scales contained in the instrument were moderately reliable, but exhibited only minimal factor definition. Analysis of selected relationships among scales did not support portions of Gregorc's overall theoretical model, although those findings remain questionable due to inherent psychometric weaknesses of the instrument.
