It takes two: Two-photon tracers (AG1, AG2) have been developed that can be excited by 780 nm fs laser pulses, can be easily loaded into cancer cells and tissues, show high photostability and negligible toxicity, and can visualize glucose uptake in living cells and tissues by two-photon microscopy (TPM). Moreover, AG2 can screen anticancer agents in cancer cells and cancer tissues at 75–150 mm depth by TPM. Detailed facts of importance to specialist readers are published as ”Supporting Information”.
