The first part of this book is rather technical and gives a summary of the scientific aspects of oral contraception. The chapter on the longand short-term effects of these prepara- tions is particularly good in helping the practitioner to decide for himself whether the advantages of this method outweigh its potential dangers. The second part deals with the clinical aspects of the method and gives practical advice and guidance. On the whole this is a very helpful book for the general practitioner engaged in contraceptive work.
