Abstract

Pretreatment with an AT(1) antagonist protected hypertensive rats from brain ischemia by normalizing the cerebral blood flow response, probably through AT(1) receptor blockade in cerebral vessels and in brain areas controlling cerebrovascular flow during stroke.
