AbstractRabbits can be submitted on a parallel swing to linear accelerations of changing direction. These cause compensatory movements of the eye, which can be recorded with the aid of an electronystagmograph. In the normal position these movements are smaller than in the reversed position. In the side position nystagmus appears. In human beings essentially the same phenomena are found. These results are discussed.
