Abstract

During Aeromonas infection, pore formation by aerolysin impairs epithelial integrity by promoting TJ protein redistribution and consequently affecting wound closure. Thus, Aeromonas-induced diarrhea is mediated by 2 mechanisms, transcellular secretion and paracellular leak flux.
