Clinical benefits of biochemical markers of bone turnover in Egyptian children with chronic liver diseases

Abstract

Low serum IGF-1 level seems to play a critical role in the bone loss in patients with chronic liver disease. Elevated biochemical markers of bone remodeling suggest high-turnover in patients with viral infection and reflect severity of the clinical stage.
