Abstract

As defined by Goldblatt, Katz, Lewis and Richardson, 1 dog U of renin is that amount which, when injected into a trained, unanesthetized, 10 to 20 kg dog, results in a maximal increase in mean arterial pressure of 30 mm Hg within 3 minutes after the time of injection (15). 2 The "simple-hypophysectomized animal" refers to the dog in which the anterior pituitary has been removed and no other physiological alteration has been made. 2026
