An information model for software quality measurement with ISO standards

Abstract

Within the ISO's mandate to upgrade its set of technical reports on the measurement of the quality of software products (ISO 9126), the ISO working group associated with it has come up with a proposed new structure, with some interesting contributions. This paper investigates the maturity of two new concepts proposed (measurement primitives and quality measures), highlights some of their weaknesses and proposes a way to address these using the measurement information model of ISO 15939 on software measurement process.
