International Journal of Epidemiology 1982; 11: 362–367. Various methods of estimating the completeness of cancer registration have been tested on data for the North Western Region of England. They included a new method which can be built into the system and used in the routine monitoring of any registry that ascertains cases both from death registrations and from hospitals.
