The quality of the excretion urograms in 100 patients given sodium diatrizoate 1 ml./kg (270 mg I/kg) has been compared with that in 100 patients given an equivalent dose of the methylglucamine salt. The mean scores were higher in patients given the sodium salt resulting in fewer unsatisfactory examinations than in those having the methylglucamine salt. The importance of variations in the state of hydration of the patient is emphasized.
