Schrödinger operators with Kato’s class potentials are perturbed by positive potentials with compact supports and increasing heights. The convergences of the corresponding resolvent differences are investigated in different operator norms. Necessary and sufficient conditions are given for Hilbert–Schmidt and trace class convergences. The usefulness of the results is explained by some spectral theoretical examples.
