Excited-state relaxation in polyacetylene has been examined using femtosecond optical pulses. In this Brief Report, we describe the recovery dynamics of an optically induced absorption in the infrared region of the spectrum (1.55 \ensuremath{\mu}m) which displays distinctly different recovery dynamics than previously observed at shorter wavelengths.
