In this paper we report differential superelastic, elastic and inelastic electron scattering measurements from CO2 in its (010) excited vibrational quantum. The incident electron energy was 3.8 eV and the scattered electron angular range was 20-80°. A significant, and somewhat surprising, result is that the elastic differential cross sections for scattering from the (010) mode are some 2.3 times larger than those corresponding to elastic scattering from the ground (000) state.
