Use of the Fresnel equations in the theory of angle-resolved photoemission

Abstract

Derivations of the Fresnel equations for a dielectric-metal boundary are discussed in a critical fashion, and the equations are used to calculate the vector potential outside a surface bombarded by a photon beam, as a function of angle of incidence.
