A surface Green function matching analysis is used to make a detailed study of several different aspects of the surface-wave problem in anisotropic cubic crystals. New methods for calculating surface-wave velocities are introduced and used in practice. Dynamic characteristics surface-wave thermodynamics and detailed spectral features of the surfacewave system are studied and reflection Brillouin scattering experiments are discussed on the basis of these. Part of the results obtained here corroborates previous theoretical work, but the analysis also bears new features not previously studied.
