The use of a parallel cantilever-based deposition system as an electrospotting tool in picoliter volumes is demonstrated. Applied in conjunction with polypyrrole electrochemistry, this generic approach for fabricating biochips is optimized for oligonucleotide chips featuring micrometer spots of different sequences with high reproducibility and specificity (see figure).
