Taking into account the existing physical ideas about the nature of molecular interactions, the effects of electric and magnetic fields on the mechanism of action of additives in oils, as well as raw friction and wear during the process on mobile interfaces in the presence of a third body, i.e., lubrication, have been studied. The mechanism of the formation of a boundary lubricant layer in the electromagnetic effects on additives for oils has been discussed. The results of studies on the influence of electric and magnetic fields on the process of mixing additives in oils, tribological properties of oils with additives, the formation of polymolecular layer additives on the friction surface, and two-layer lubricant on friction surfaces in the presence of mineral oil additives and friction modifiers have been presented.
