Abstract The spectroscopic characterization of a novel polymorph of metal-free phthalocyanine(τ-form), showing the particular X-ray diffraction peaks, was investigated by comparing the other polymorphs. In this paper, the precise ir spectrum obtained by FTIR and visible absorption spectrum of the τ-form are reported.
