Abstract

This study analyses the effects of Team Expert Choice on group decision-making in collaborative new product development. We applied Team Expert Choice to support a product evaluation conducted by a new product development group composed of professionally diverse members. The evaluation resulted in valuable guidelines for improving the development and diffusion of the product. According to the evaluators, Team Expert Choice enhanced task processes, social processes, task outcomes and social outcomes of this product evaluation. In this context of collaborative new product development, Team Expert Choice proved to be an appropriate tool for group decision-making. Copyright © 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
