Determination of the vibrational energy relaxation time of the azide ion in protic solvents by two-color transient infrared spectroscopy

Abstract

The vibrational energy relaxation times (T1) of the antisymmetric stretch (ν3) of the azide ion (N−3) in various protic solvents have been measured to be 3 ps using transient two-color infrared spectroscopy.
