A Simplified Emission Regulator for Mass-Spectrometer Ion Sources

Abstract

A simplified electron emission regulator has been developed which operates by controlling the space current instead of the filament heater current. No vacuum tubes are used, but the performance is comparable with that of electronic regulators now in use.
