Triethynyl‐phosphine, ‐arsine and ‐stibine

Abstract

Abstract The compounds M(CCH) 3 , with MP, As and Sb, are prepared from the appropriate trichlorides and ethynylmagnesium bromide in tetrahydrofuran. All three compounds are relatively stable volatile solids at room temperature, but detonate violently by strong friction. Infrared and proton magnetic resonance data are given.
