Bus fuel consumption and air pollutant emissions are related to technological aspects, such as engine efficiency, type of gear as well as physical parameters, such as slope of the infrastructure, vehicle weight, vehicle load and so on; on the other hand, human factors can play an important role. Specifically, driving behaviour has a key impact on fuel consumption and emissions. The aim of this research is to assess and quantify the impact of driving behaviours, road slope and vehicle load (passengers) upon fuel consumption and air pollutant emissions.
