Abstract

In connection with a recent experiment1 the writer had to de termine the placement of a large number of pupils. As a basis for so doing, several items of information concerning each pupil were collected. Among these were the scores made upon certain standardized intelligence and achievement tests, the average school marks, and the attendance records. The tests referred to were given near the close of each of the several semesters through which the experiment was continued. In each case the pupil took one or more of the following tests : Pressey Primer Scale, Dearborn Group Tests of Intelligence, National Intelli gence Tests, Scale A, Form I, Illinois General Intelligence Scale, Forms I and II, and Myers Mental Measure. At the same time the following achievement tests were used in the appropriate grades: First-Grade Reading Test, Forms A and B (Pressey) ; Second-Grade Attainment Scale, Forms A and B, (Pressey); Monroe's Standardized Silent Reading Test, Forms I, II, and III ; Monroe's General Survey Scale in Arithmetic, Forms I, II, and III.
