Abstract The microwave spectra of chloromethyl- and bromomethyl-methylether in the gauche form were studied in relation to their molecular structures and quadrupole coupling constant tensors, X, for six isotopic species. The X tensor elements were obtained from the hyperfine structures of the observed spectra.
