Effect of Multiple Ionization on the Fluorescence Yield of Ne

$K$ Auger-electron and $K$ x-ray yields of Ne have been measured simultaneously in 30-MeV ${\mathrm{O}}^{7+}$ collisions with Ne. Both spectra are dominated by satellite transitions. The Ne $K$-shell fluorescence yield is 2.4 times larger than found in identical measurements using 5-MeV incident protons.
